Top Tips For Better Sleep

Getting the right amount of sleep is important both for our physical and mental health. When we are at sleep the body goes through its self healing process, therefore it is important that you try to get a good amount of sleep each day to allow the bodyto replenish itself. Sleep deficiency can increase risk of chronic illness, and have a big affect on how you think, act and learn. In order for our bodies to have a good nights rest humans generally need 7-8 hours of sleep.

  1. Stay away from big meals at night and avoid eating 2-3 hours before bed.

  2. No caffeine 6 hours before bed.

  3. Avoid alcohol before bed as it can interfere with the sleep quality.

  4. Avoid tablets and phones when you are in bed as the blueish light mimics daylight that in turn represses the production of melatonin, which helps us fall asleep.

  5. Lavender baths.

  6. Burn Lavender candles or incense an hour before bed.

  7. Meditation.

  8. Give yourself a set bed time.

  9. You can work out your bedtime by counting back from the hour you wish to wake up.

  10. If you have difficulty getting to sleep try reading a book or listening to the radio before bed.
